My calves ache, in a wonderful way. I was starving this morning. All it took for my body to get back in the game was a grand total of six miles, apparently. And I love it; I feel better already.

Yesterday’s mileage: three.

I finally made it to my standard “short” loop, a hair over three from our door to the edge of the Fens and back. Trees in the Fens are still glorious as well, and it was still sunny when I headed out – I’m not sure I could imagine better weather for returning to running after a break. Running and I, we’ve fallen in love again.

This morning, PT: orthotics, ladder drills, balance and a killer calf workout. The ankle is feeling pretty solid – achey yesterday post-run, but nothing a few days off won’t mend. I’ve graduated to one session per week for the next few, just to make sure I’m back in running shape, and then I’m free!

Bon weekend!
