Six miles today over lunch; I was loving the chance to see downtown bathed in sunlight again, instead of under cover of darkness per usual.
Plus, it’s melting! Take a look at that Charles trying to flow freely. (Of course, I know it’s only February and we’ve got two more months of winter to contend with in these parts, but that’s a start! If I don’t have to wear snow cleats on Marathon Monday I’ll consider that a win.)
Normally, I avoid running during the workday, because the temptation to linger is too great. Nonetheless, with an early meeting this morning and dinner plans tonight, I was determined to make the most of my lunch hour; the warmth and sunshine were absolutely worth the accelerated pace to get me back to the office in time.

How do you get unsweaty and all that jazz before going back to work?
Danielle, a few things – I’m lucky that my office has showers for employee use, so that’s always an option. Even if I don’t go that far, I keep gym towels, facewash and deodorant in my desk, so generally I sit outside to cool off a bit before coming and and cleaning myself up. Not so sure I’ll be able to get away with lunchtime runs in warmer weather…
